Write a Review!!

This page is for you; it is intended to give our stitchers a voice and make the website more informative.

Have you ever wanted to post a comment about a pattern you've been working on?  Good or Bad, it's all good!!  Well here is your chance to advise fellow stitchers!!!

Write a comment on any of the kits or patterns posted on our website, and we will post it.  Your comments can include your impressions of the presentation; ease or difficulty of following the chart/instructions and how you overcame and compensated; any changes you made to the original pattern; your impression of the finished piece; and so on.

It's very easy, just write down your thoughts and email them with a photo of your stitched piece to our webmaster
The photo is optional, but if your piece is different from the original we'd love to see it.

Reviews will be listed here as well as on the appropriate designer pages.

Even though red is not my colour, this sampler really caught my eye.

The chart only lists “red” and “black” for the thread suggestions and with only 2 colours required it is very easy for you to customize. I choose two overdyed fibres; “Under Tow” a silk by Hand-dyed fibres and “Mascara” by Weeks Dye Works.

The sampler is also quite large, 169 x 402 stitches. Thus, I decided to petit point in the continental stitch, 2 over 1, on 32ct silk gauze.

There is no page layout diagram, but with the cover photo it is fairly simple to follow along row by row. There are a few missed symbols on the chart, but again with the symmetrical nature of the top and bottom row, and the repeated motifs within each row, this is also not a problem.

Another suggestion that would have made this a user friendlier chart is a suggestion of how many skeins are required to complete the sampler. Courtney does list the number of stitches per colour, but this doesn’t help me at all. I have only 3 skeins of each colour, so my tails are minimal. I hope I won’t run out, but with my progress so far I’m doubtful.

Even with all these little hick-ups I love this design.
