Need to bring: A small stitched project, to be finished into an ornament.
If you do not have a stitched piece, we have a nice selection of small 1 day cross stitch projects
that could be stitched the week prior. Nancy will teach her special technique of transforming a small stitched items into a fabulous ornament. Turn those small projects into beautiful gifts and decorations for the holidays. Learn which shape best suites your ornament, stretching it onto the foamed shape, and finishing it with ribbons & trims. No sewing is involved!! Other than your cross stitched treasure, Nancy will provide everything else you will need for this class (tools, glues, mat board, foam, fabric, and trim) |

Need to bring: embroidery scissor, highlighter, and hoop or 7" x 8" stretcher frame. During class Kathrin will cover topics such as how to read a chart, differences of various cross stitch fabrics as well as how fabric/stitch counts affect design size, and recommended needle size for fabric/stitch counts. Stitches she will cover during class: full cross stitch, 1/4 and 1/2 cross stitch, backstitching, whipped backstitch and straight stitch, as well as attaching beads. You will also work with 4 different fibres: variegated and solid coloured threads, single and multi stranded, metallic and rayon threads. |

Petit Point is comprised of only full stitches (continental or tent stitch),
and relies on the subtle change in thread colour to achieve great detail, with no 1/4 stitches or backstitching. Kathrin has a selection of kits for you to choose from. All floral on either 23 or 30 count silk gauze. Other than the stitch, she will also cover topics such as sorting and organizing the threads, reading the chart, working in hand or with frame, needles size for the stitch/canvas count.
